James P. Keating
April 15, 1927 - March 13, 2008
James Pinckney Keating died Thursday morning March 13, 2008 in Savannah of natural causes. Well known in the community as an entrepreneur, Keating graduated Benedictine Military School. He served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII, after serving his country Keating attended Georgetown University. Keating was owner of Keating Roofing Company, as well as having created, in partnership, Savannah Automation School, the very first school of its kind in Savannah. He was a coach and referee for Savannah's "Soccer in the Streets" program.
He is survived by his wife Carmen and their sons, Michael and Thomas and daughters, Michelle and Isabel; his four children from a previous marriage: James, Helen, Roselyn and Rebecca; his sisters Marcella and Mary; his brother Harty; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A Vigil Service will be held at 12 noon Monday, March 17, 2008 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Remembrances may be given to the Charity of one's choice.
